BE UNDER CONTROL

Genesis 9:20-22
After the flood, Noah began to cultivate the ground, and he planted a vineyard.
One day he drank some wine he had made, and he became drunk and lay naked inside his tent.
Ham, the father of Canaan, saw that his father was naked and went outside and told his brothers.

A lot of problems we would save ourselves if we learn to exercise self-control. We would avoid so many errs and save others from erring too.

This is why Paul gave these guidelines for appointing men as leaders in church:

1 Timothy 3:1-3,10-11
This is a trustworthy saying: “If someone aspires to be an elder, he desires an honorable position.”
So an elder must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach.
He must not be a heavy drinker or be violent. He must be gentle, not quarrelsome, and not love money.
Before they are appointed as deacons, let them be closely examined. If they pass the test, then let them serve as deacons.
In the same way, their wives must be respected and must not slander others. They must exercise self-control and be faithful in everything they do.

For good character cannot be taken for granted, it is the evidence that you are controlled by God's Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-25
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.
Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

Sometimes different situations would arise, even depression, there would even be times you may feel alone, and could even be betrayed, yet we must still be on guard and be strong. No room for the flesh, it is a mirage. The true you, is your spirit. Therein your true power and authority is displayed.

We must be under control!

Not of man, or our earthly desires, alcohol, substances, sex, lust or anything in the flesh but by the Heavenly Father's Spirit.

Ephesians 5:18
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Oh, so many troubles and disasters we will save ourselves of, let us learn from Noah. He would not have needed to curse Ham.

1 Corinthians 14:40
Let all things be done decently and in order.

We will not get carried away. It is wise to be under control.

Help us good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
@the watcher.
