YOUR COVENANT
Nehemiah 9:38
And because of all this we make a sure [covenant], and write [it]; and our princes, Levites, [and] priests, seal [unto it].
As we end this year, we would be seeking the Lord's face for so many areas of our life. Wisely so. However, what should the Lord be expecting from us in the coming year. What is our own end of the covenant?
To get God's action, we go beyond the asking to begin to make covenants.
Strong men of God lived by covenants:
Job 31:1
I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?
Daniel 1:8
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank:
Joshua 24:15b
but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
What do we need to make right? What needs to be corrected? What do we need to stop doing? What do we need to start doing?
For the people of the Lord become better by the day, as they increase in all things, they also increase in knowledge of God.
Colossians 1:9-10
For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
We also go beyond ourselves and reach out to all that the Lord has kept under our care.
Yes, our children also, for those under our care who have not grown to make their own decisions, should be given the right foundation. Even the grown must continually edify and be edified. Praise God.
Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Hebrews 3:13
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
For as we finish this year, we must prepare to increase in the knowledge of God as we increase in all things.
Jude 1:20
But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit,
We search out loopholes and fill them up with the divine, for we make no room for the unfruitful works of darkness:
Ephesians 5:11
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].
Glory to God.
We understand that the Lord is interested in the sincerity of heart and purpose of the believer. For we were saved in truth, we must live in truth.
We enter the new year with covenants of obedience, ready to fulfil the will of the Lord in all things. So help us Good Lord.
Jude 1:24-25
Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.
All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.
He calls us blessed.
