WE TRUST IN THE LORD (Psalm 146)

Psalm 146:5
Happy [is he] that [hath] the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope [is] in the LORD his God:

We trust in the Lord, for we cannot put our trust in man, no matter how highly placed they seem to be:

Psalms 146:3-4
Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there.
When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them.

I recall a city I once lived in. There, some were so confident, they had the governor of the state as a relation, they felt all was going well for them. They boasted about it, the started project here and there, they occupied some key positions. However in few years this governor died suddenly of a place crash. The tragedy followed with a new governor. He cleared his cabinet, replaced all in key positions with his own choice of people. Projects were suspended, many were left stranded.

This is an example of the frailty of man.

Psalms 146:5-9
But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God.
He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever.
He gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry.
The Lord frees the prisoners.
The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down. The Lord loves the godly.
The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.

We need people, we need networks, like minds, mentors, colleagues etc

However we must know who truly is our help. He is the Heavenly Father. He will lead you to the right people. He will help them to help you AND He will help YOU to help others too.

Our trust should be in the Lord.

Psalm 146:10
The LORD shall reign for ever, [even] thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD.

Never forget that the greatest help we need He has provided for us, that is, our salvation in Christ Jesus. There is no help greater than this!

His praise will never cease from our mouths.

He calls us blessed.

Love

  1. Our Lord God is the only answer to every request and he never fail. Assistance from man can cease, but that of God is stable.
