I NEED YOU LORD (Psalm 142)
Psalms 142:5
Then I pray to you, O Lord. I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life.
Mark 12:30
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment.
Why all the persecutions and why all the temptations? What do they come to do? They come to take away the love of God from you.
Job 1:11
But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
This was the enemy's standpoint. He believes that man loves God only for the benefit he gets from Him. That the moment those benefits are NOT there, then man can curse God.
This is why it is dangerous to preach a strange gospel. Promising people what the Lord did not promise. Your love for God should be unconditional, that is why it came at first as an instruction.
Can man exist without God, NO, for it is His breath in man that keeps man alive.
Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 6:3
And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also [is] flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Acts 17:28
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
However can man live in rebellion to God, YES, for man was created with a mind, a reflection of God. Man could resist acknowledging God.
Romans 1:21-22
Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.
Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.
This is what they enemy desires, this has been his trick from the beginning, to remove man's dependence on the Heavenly Father. If he succeeds then he can freely manipulate and cause man to do those things which are not convenient.
Romans 1:28
And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
We must never come to the point when we feel that we do not need God or that we are only in the relationship for what we can get.
Of course we rely on God for all we need, however our love for Him should surpass the physical things of this world. It ought to be unconditional.
For that love you profess, will be TESTED!
Lord we love you, we need you, we put our trust in you. To You be all the Glory, Honour and Praise. Halleluyah.
He calls us blessed.

May every soul be blessed with the knowledge that: "he who put his trust in God shall be like mount Zion which cannot be moved ...." Ooh Lord, keep us away from all those things that may lead us to forsake you
