STAY IN THE WORD (Psalm 119, part 1)

Psalm 119:9 BETH.
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed [thereto] according to thy word.

Psalm 119 is a praise to the word of God, it testifies of the power of the word. It is the light, it breeds righteousness, it is the power of God. For through His Word all things were created, in His word were ordinances kept in the old covenant and through His word we are made clean in the new covenant.

The evidence of our love of God is our obedience. What do we obey? The Word?!

Psalm 119:2-3
Blessed [are] they that keep his testimonies, [and that] seek him with the whole heart.
They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

For it is by dwelling in His Word that we overcome sin, in seeking Him with our whole heart that we have no room for the flesh.

Psalms 119:4-6
You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully.
Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees!
Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with your commands.

The word is the mirror by which we see ourselves to know if we are properly dressed, need amendment or need a complete make over.

To please God you must know His words and work in them:

Psalms 119:11
I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

For it is by the word the we build faith, for faith cometh by the word.

Romans 10:17
So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

How do you pray, how do you worship without the word?

Psalms 119:15-16
I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways.
I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word.

Halleluyah, stay in the word.

He calls us blessed.

Love
@the watcher.
