LET GO OF PRIDE (Psalm 131)

Psalms 131:1
Lord , my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty.
I don’t concern myself with matters too great or too awesome for me to grasp.

The very character that caused the fall of the enemy, the character that makes the list of things the Lord hates:

Ezekiel 28:17
Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty.
Your wisdom was corrupted by your love of splendor.
So I threw you to the ground and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings.

Proverbs 6:16-17
These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

For the worst thing to do to one's self is to think of oneself highly than one is. For ideas begin to come, self sufficiency. Looking down on others and eventually feeling that we do not need God.

Thus Paul in his letter to the Romans warned:

Romans 12:3
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Many a minister (just lile king Saul of old) have left their "Caller" to please those who they were called to minister to. Seeking human commendation they miss that of God. This is one reason we hear of such terrible things practiced all in the name of the Lord.

Ministers are cautious with the truth, they do not want to loose followers neither do they want the influential ones to leave. WE MUST TRUST IN THE LORD!

Many leaders oppress those they lead, for the forget that they account to the Most High. They place themselves in God's place.

Hate abounds, even in some who claim to believe, for many desire to be above others, and only desire good for themselves. So envy arises and then Hate. BEWARE OF UNHEALTHY COMPETITIONS!

We cannot afford to be trapped in this evil vice.

Psalm 131:2
Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul [is] even as a weaned child.

For humility defers from
foolishness, mediocrity, weakness or fear.

We must humble ourselves to trust in the Lord. If we do, our character will show it.

Our character is that of God's Spirit and scriptures well summarises it:

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

May our character display the evidence of Him who owns us. We will nor err.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.

Love
@the watcher.
