WE PRAISE, WE DO NOT HARDEN (Psalm 95)
Psalm 95:1
O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
We understand that:
2Timothy 3:16&17
All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Thus the study of the compilation of Psalms, we learn from the walk of men, prophets and kings of old with God, their mistakes, their exploits and God's revelations through them.
For the revelations to them was not just for their time but for times to come. This is why what we have as the new testament today is the revelation of what God revealed to the men and prophets of old. We see the Messiah, Jesus the Christ and His disciples who wrote, quoting from these scriptures. Selah.
In Psalm 95, we see praise given to whom it is deserved, the Heavenly Father:
Psalms 95:3-6
For the lord is a great God, a great King above all gods.
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains.
The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too.
Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the lord our maker,
Yes, this ought to be our lifestyle, yes our way of life. Day after day, whether at school, work, home, with other believers or on any assignment.
However, this is not always so, for there is a life we live on earth, daily activities, battles, challenges and even our earth suit with its lust and limitations. Yes, we could criticize and condemn the children of Israel and wonder why after the miracles their heart were hardened.
HAVE YOU NOT FORGOTTEN YOUR OWN TESTIMONIES?
Psalms 95:7-10
for he is our God.
We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care.
If only you would listen to his voice today!
The lord says, “Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did at Meribah, as they did at Massah in the wilderness.
For there your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw everything I did.
For forty years I was angry with them, and I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’
ARE YOU BETTER?
Hebrews 3:8-15
don’t harden your hearts
as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness.
There your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw my miracles for forty years.
So I was angry with them, and I said, ‘Their hearts always turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’
So in my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest.’”
Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.
You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.
For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.
Remember what it says:
“Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.”
This is the reason for ikthewatcher.blogspot.com, that we may be edified daily. No matter how busy, tasking or challenging our day is, we begin with the Lord and stay in His presence the whole day.
How many of us have blocked our ears that we do not hear the voice of the Lord? How many of us, like King Saul have replaced our love of God with desire for the worldly lust and praise, prestige from men.
We cannot afford to make the same mistakes they made of old. We must praise and not be hardened.
1 Peter 2:9
But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Are we showing forth His praise? It is not all about shouting and making noise, it is from the heart, it is the way we live our lives daily.
So we must ask ourselves the question day after day.
AM I A PRAISE, OR AM I HARDENED?
The Lord will release His Spirit afresh on us. We will be His praise. Halleluyah.
He calls us blessed.

May God Almighty always enable us to dwell in His secret place to abide under the shadow of Almighty. May the praises of God be convenient for us on the land of living. May the Lord continue to bless ikthewatcher.blogspot.com for this inspiration.
