GREAT GOD - stay faithful (Psalm 114)

He showed Himself, yes, His great power when He led the Israelites out of Egypt.

Psalms 114:1-8
When the Israelites escaped from Egypt, when the family of Jacob left that foreign land, the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel became his kingdom.
The Red Sea saw them coming and hurried out of their way!
The water of the Jordan River turned away.
The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs!
What’s wrong, Red Sea, that made you hurry out of their way?
What happened, Jordan River, that you turned away? Why, mountains, did you skip like rams? Why, hills, like lambs?
Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.
He turned the rock into a pool of water; yes, a spring of water flowed from solid rock.

A summary of the great things God did in the sight of the Israelites.

Yet we wonder why would they not believe, why would they have ever doubted?

The truth was, their heart was somewhere else!

For the Lord brought them out of Egypt but most of them never left, just like Lot's wife. The Lord saved them from the burning Sodom and Gomorrah even warned them not to look back, however where your heart is, you will always look for. And she became a pillar of salt.

These people never cease to amaze me, you were slaves punished, used and you never learnt perseverance, just a month off, you begin to seek idols!

Exodus 32:1,7,9-10,14
When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron. “Come on,” they said, “make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.”
The Lord told Moses, “Quick! Go down the mountain! Your people whom you brought from the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves.
Then the Lord said, “I have seen how stubborn and rebellious these people are.
Now leave me alone so my fierce anger can blaze against them, and I will destroy them. Then I will make you, Moses, into a great nation.”
So the Lord changed his mind about the terrible disaster he had threatened to bring on his people.

What a people, why was it so hard for them to appreciate the Heavenly Father? There heart was in man and things.

The same today, many have left seeking the Heavenly Father to seek after men and things, be they men of God or whatever they may be. We cannot do without help from man for when God wants to do something on earth, He uses men. However they must NOT take the place of the Heavenly Father. Selah

Remember things are not eternal and you seek to be eternal, so hold things that are NOT eternal lightly,  but hold things that are eternal strongly.

We must learn from the err of the children of Jacob, appreciate the Lord, never forget His goodness.

For no matter what challenge, delay or temptation you face, it will surely pass away. Remember it seemed in the life of Joseph that all about him was sufferings. From being chained in the pit to be killed by animals to being sold to the Ishmeelites, ruthless slave traders, to being a slave in a soldiers house then being thrown into prison for what he knew nothing about!

Yet he never let the light or vision deem. He remained steadfast, faithful and hopeful.

How long can you persevere? If you forget anything, remember that He is the Great God. Nothing can surpass Him. If He got you, you are covered.

Trust in Him.

2 Corinthians 10:17
But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

2Thessalonians 2:16
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given [us] everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

Revelation 4:11
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Glory to God, yes in Christ Jesus our Lord. Halleluyah

He calls us blessed.

Love
@the watcher.
