THE VOICE OF THE LORD (Psalm 29)
Psalm 29:2
Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
The Supremacy and Sovereign power of the Heavenly Father can not be overemphasized. For we live in times when man has been so distracted away from His maker for even though it seems they call His name, their heart actually is somewhere else.
Most people even most believers feel that the Lord is quiet. Yes for many have not learnt to hear His Voice speak to them.
It reminds us of the first encounter of the people of Israel with the Lord on Mount Sinai:
Exodus 20:18-19
And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw [it], they removed, and stood afar off.
And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
(Do read chapters 19 and 20)
Many who say today "Thus says the Lord", how many of them have really heard the voice of the Lord.
We understand by the revelation of the Messiah, Yeshua, Jesus the Christ that God is love, however we must not take light His power.
For it is a terrible thing to fall into the hand of the Lord:
Hebrews 10:31
[It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
How many really have heard the voice of the Lord?
Lamentations 3:37
Who [is] he [that] saith, and it cometh to pass, [when] the Lord commandeth [it] not?
When the Lord speaks, no other person or being can contradict. Who are they?
He alone reverses what He says, yes for He is mercy, long suffering and kind. Jonah can testify to this.
And when He has spoken His word does not return to Him void it must fulfill its purpose.
Isaiah 55:11
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it.
Glory to God for today His very Spirit dwells in us. For even His laws He has written in our hearts. We enjoy such great love and ease. We are inexcusable.
What has the Lord spoken concerning you?
Have you fulfilled it? Nothing is strong enough to contradict it except you.
What has the Lord spoken in His Word? Never cease to study.
He calls us blessed.
Love
