THE MIRAGE (Psalm 37)

Psalm 37:4
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring [it] to pass.

We learn from David that all is not what it seems. Truly there are those the Lord granted wealth, people that may not have known Him yet He allows them to succeed. People like Nebuchadnezzar of old who God allowed to rule and conquer. We have some of such today.

My belief is that everyone is born with talents and gifts, however what you do with it is up to you. It takes an encounter with the Lord to understand that everything we have received is for good works and we will account for it. The wise thing to do is to serve the Lord. This is not just going to church but shining the light of God into the world.

Proverbs 4:18
But the path of the just [is] as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Isaiah 60:1
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Now what of the wicked? Some have killed, stolen or taken advantage of others to get wealth. This kind of wealth is not from the Lord. We are instructed NOT to envy them:

Psalm 37:1-2
Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

We don't really know the pain, fear and restlessness some of them go through, for they only have one end, "destruction".

Psalm 37:10
For yet a little while, and the wicked [shall] not [be]: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it [shall] not [be].

Some would do anything just to get rich, however when they do get money, (for most of them don't), they discover that there are so many things money cannot buy.

There is nothing like a blessed resource, for that little is bigger than a cursed plenty. Selah:

Psalm 37:16
A little that a righteous man hath [is] better than the riches of many wicked.

WHAT A MIRAGE!

We are never to be caught in that farce, for the importance thing is to be at peace with God.

This peace is what many people seek, for even the dead they pray for, seeking the same peace. Wait, this has already been settled in Christ Jesus:

Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

This is why the Messiah came:

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Don't get caught in the web, understand what the will of Lord is about.

Ephesians 5:17
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord [is].

The Lord always has you covered, so DO NOT JOIN them, He will take care of you.

Psalms 37:9
For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

Psalma 37:18-19&25
The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

We will not fall for the mirage, we are the blessed of the Lord.

He calls us blessed.

  1. Watch the perfect man, for the end of that man is peace- peace in time and peace in eternity.
