THE LORD HAS HELPED US (Psalm 28)
Psalms 28:7
The lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
It is the Lord that has kept us, for if we had looked at man we wonder where we will be. So many though having smiles on their face yet it is evil plans that fill their hearts:
Psalms 28:3b
those who speak friendly words to their neighbors while planning evil in their hearts.
(Though good people do live in our world today)
For why do we have fightings, troubles and wickedness in the world? Those who refused to focus on their path, who do not know their purpose but feel that they must interfere or overtake someone else. They compare themselves and are not contented, so they steal what belongs to others and envy the progress of others.
James 4:1-3
What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you?
You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.
And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.
James was able to summarize the nature and character of the worldly man.
See what David prayed and prophesied about their end:
Psalm 28:4-5
Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
We as believers have no business with this nature, our nature is that of thanksgiving, for we understand God’s favour and blessings towards us.
Psalm 28:7
The LORD [is] my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
We know the Lord has helped us and remain our help. We have no place for envy, strife or any evil work.
We are the new breed, offspring of the Most High God. We carry His nature, for His Spirit dwells in us. Halleluyah.
We need not worry about those who have chosen the wrong path, the Lord will save us from them. Yes, the Lord is our helper.
He calls us blessed.
