RESTORATION (Psalm 51)

Psalms 51:12
Bring me back from gray exile, put a fresh wind in my sails!

Every believer who is conversant with the scriptures can recount the story of David and his err in going into another man's wife and the evils he did to coverup. This of course was the reason for this psalm. However we recall that these psalms as we have said in earlier studies were divinely inspired and thus were rich in prophesies and revelations, which one can see when looking and reading without the veil.

[2Timothy 3:16&17 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.]

We see him speaking of forgiveness just as someone who had not been saved.

Psalms 51:1-2,5,7
Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love.
Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.
Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.For I was born a sinner— yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.
Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

All this Christ has done for us!

Now what of when we err afterwards? Some teach that there is no more confession of sins, that it is a continuous forgiveness. NO!

The question you want to ask is, when your son (especially matured) sins against you, do you expect him to say he is sorry and discontinue the err or do you expect him to take it for granted that he has been forgiven and continue the err?

This same reason is why a minister would commit an evil act and then would come bold face into a gathering to minister to others, some even to lay hands and prophesy. This is not acceptable to God.

Psalm 50:16&21
But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or [that] thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
These [things] hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether [such an one] as thyself: [but] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes.

Do not take God's silence for approval!

Psalm 51:17
The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

When a soldier is wounded, he is not carried ahead to the front of the battle to face the enemies direct fire, he is retreated to get treatment and when he recovers he can yet fight again.

We must not get too familiar with the Heavenly Father that we will feel that we can live anyhow. Yes we have liberty, however:

Galatians 5:13
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

David we believed had not been saved, yet we see him talk by prophesy of the joy of God's salvation. He could see it. Yes for we could loose the joy of our salvation if we decide to live carelessly.

There is one beautiful thing about David's promise when the Lord restores him.

Psalm 51:13
[Then] will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Glory to God, for no matter whatever brings us down we arise to turn the temptation into testimonies. Halleluyah.

Psalm 51:19
Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

Thus we must understand that our service and givings may amount to nothing until we live in His righteousness.

Matthew 5:23&24
 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

The heart that comes is what God is concerned with. Do not remain with your filthy clothes, get them washed and then stay clean. For you will not come to His banquet with unclean clothes.

Hello ministers, man may accept you, crowds may follow you. However, remember the only authentication that matters is that of the one who called you. WHO CALLED YOU???

Matthew 22:2,11-14
“The Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a king who prepared a great wedding feast for his son.
“But when the king came in to meet the guests, he noticed a man who wasn’t wearing the proper clothes for a wedding.
‘Friend,’ he asked, ‘how is it that you are here without wedding clothes?’ But the man had no reply.
Then the king said to his aides, ‘Bind his hands and feet and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
“For many are called, but few are chosen.”

We will not be found wanting. We must work out our salvation with fear and trembling. We must understand that there is no room for the flesh.

Romans 13:14
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof].

Romans 13:14(NLT)
Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.

The Lord will help us. HELP ME OH LORD!

He calls us blessed.

Love
@the watcher.
