PROPHESY FROM THE HARP (Psalm 49)
Psalms 49:4(NLT)
I listen carefully to many proverbs and solve riddles with inspiration from a harp.
The sons of Korah, who ministered in music understood the power of prophesy. They knew what it was to stay in the place of worship and receive revelations.
Listen to their prophesy of redemption:
Psalms 49:2,6-8
High and low, rich and poor—listen! They trust in their wealth and boast of great riches. Yet they cannot redeem themselves from death by paying a ransom to God.
Redemption does not come so easily, for no one can ever pay enough
See its fulfilment:
1 Timothy 2:5-6
For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.
He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.
Yes, God alone could save man, so He gave Himself, yes His Son, the Word as ransom. He paid our debt. So much love, so great a sacrifice. Yet He did not lose, for with God it is always a win-win. Halleluyah
So what do we learn today? What has happened to our worship, our gathering together? Where is the power, the flow of the Spirit, the prophesies?
Psalm 49 hints it:
Psalms 49:6,16-17
They trust in their wealth and boast of great riches. So don’t be dismayed when the wicked grow rich and their homes become ever more splendid.
For when they die, they take nothing with them. Their wealth will not follow them into the grave.
Something else has taken the place of His love, the desire of wealth, vain things, earthly glory:
1 Corinthians 14:26, 31
How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 4:2
Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
Ephesians 5:19
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
What has taken the place of true believers gathering. We must get it right.
The Psalmist said that money could not pay our ransom yet many today run after money. They have allowed mammon take God's place. For where your treasure. . . :
Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
For almost all the atrocities committed in the name of the Lord is birthed out of the desire and lust for money.
Remember the Messiah said:
Luke 16:13
“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
I see a new wave of the release of God's Spirit, we will not get carried away like the people of old who turned the temple into a market.
We operate a divine wealth, not like the world does. For He said the one He gives us is without sorrow:
Proverbs 10:22
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
The Spirit will take over, we will not be found wanting. We will move by the Spirit. We will prophesy again. Nothing will take His place. Halleluyah.
He calls us blessed.
Love.
