WE OVERCOME TEMPTATION (Psalm 19)

Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

No one outgrows temptation, for as long as we live here and dwell in this earthy vessel we are prone to temptation.

Thus Christ instructed us to pray that we do not fall into temptation.

Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.

That is why David prayed that prayer, he knew the two stages of sin

1. The meditation of the heart
2. Words and action.

Thus David understood that meditating on God's word will keep Him from falling into temptation, for His Word refreshes us each day:

Psalms 19:7-11
The instructions of the lord are perfect, reviving the soul.
The decrees of the lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The commandments of the lord are right, bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the lord are clear, giving insight for living.
Reverence for the lord is pure, lasting forever.
The laws of the lord are true; each one is fair.
They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.
They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.

Moreso now that we have experienced the Word made flesh, coming down to bring us back to the Father and even after He had ascended, dwelling again with the Father, He still gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth.

Really, we are inexcusable!!!

We pray the prayer Paul prayed for the church at Thessalonica:

1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Help us Good Lord.

Let us fill our heart with His praises just as David did, no room for evil thoughts, we fill our inner man with the Glory of our Heavenly Father.

Psalms 19:1-3
The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known.
They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard.

Glory to God.

He calls us blessed.
