CHOOSE YOUR PATH (Psalm 4)

Psalm 4:3
But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

One thing is certain, when God created man He looked at what He created and saw that it was good.

People do ask, "where does evil come from?".

Firstly we must understand that there are some things we have no answer to, we may only get to understand fully after this life.

1 Corinthians 13:9
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

However two sources of evil can be identified:

* from the evil one (Satan and other evil forces/spirits)
* from the wavering thoughts of fallen man

*For darkness is the absence of light*

For when God is not there, evil most likely reigns

Thus is man hopeless? No

The power to choose, which is the nature we were created with, gives man the power to decide. When we understand this truth, we would not cower from the intimidation and deceit of the enemy or the world but understand that we have the power to choose our maker.

For love cannot be forced, you must decide to LOVE!

Deutronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Joshua 24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

That is the call to the children of Israel

Romans 10:21
But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.

Isaiah 65:2
 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way [that was] not good, after their own thoughts;

So it is established that also the thoughts of man is a source of evil, from the original sin and the polluted world.

Now this is the essence of the new birth. In the times of old before the revelation of Christ those who walked in righteousness were those who resisted the thoughts of the heart and filled themselves with revelation of God. For one thing must displace the other. That of Enoch was so much the bible said God took him out from among other men.

We can also talk of Joseph and  Daniel and even include Cornelius. For they allowed the thought of the Heavenly Father to supercede every other thoughts in their lives.

Genesis 39:9
[There is] none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou [art] his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

Daniel 1:8
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Acts 10:1&2
There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian [band],
[A] devout [man], and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

Thus the coming of Christ did not make us less than them but better than them.

Matthew 12:42
The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon [is] here.

Matthew 5:20
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Remember:
God commanded - man disobedience to God's command brought about the original sin of man. Genesis chapter 2 & 3.

Thus we should thus understand:

2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

We would not be found guilty.

2Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

One great thing about submitting to the Heavenly Father is that your life is no longer ordinary, you become valuable to Him for you are light by being in Christ, you are new.

Psalm 4:8
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

You are no longer just controlled by your thoughts, but by His Holy Spirit.

Those false ones, ask people to do terrible things to themselves in the name of the Lord are not led by God's Spirit but by their thoughts which are evil. We must beware of them for the have sprang up from different corners, some even have pulled crowds to themselves. We see them on media here and there. Lord have mercy on the gullible.

Remember:

1 Peter 2:9
But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

So we can conclude by saying:

We must understand the path we have chosen and remain on that  right path. For God is not a respecter of persons.

We cannot say we are of Him and display the character of another. Galatians 5:16-26.

Psalm 4:5
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

Help us Good Lord.

He calls us blessed.
