GLORIFY GOD IN YOUR BODY
1 Corinthians 6:20
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
What gives us the right to live on earth is our body, the legitimate suit that enables man to live legitimately on earth.
Once the body is dead, we are expected to leave the scene.
Now it is this body that enables us to communicate with other bodies here on earth. However this body has been corrupted from the fall of man. Sin made the body corrupt and on the part way of decay.
We should not forget that the body was mere dust till God put His breath into man. Then man became a living being.
Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
The fall of man was man trying to live outside of God! (Genesis 3)
However the foolishness of trying to live without God is shown in what the earth offers, summed up thus:
1 John 2:15-17
Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.
And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
Listen to the thought of Eve:
Genesis 3:6
And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
So that desire to live on lustful things which we all at one time or another crave for is actually worldly and vanity. We are not foolish to resist it, but wise.
Our bodies are meant to glorify God.
1 Corinthians 6:19
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
We must shun all that pollutes the body.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,
or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.
Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Lord please set all that have come to you totally free from this evil vices. We ask by the authority we have in your Son Jesus the Christ.
Help us good Lord.
And the old temptation, which has ruined many a leader, even the strongest man who ever lived:
1 Corinthians 6:15-18
Don’t you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which is part of Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never!
And don’t you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, “The two are united into one.”
But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.
Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.
Help us good Lord.
Let your Holy Spirit have Your way in us:
Romans 8:5-6
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.
So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.
We submit ourselves to your Spirit dear Father.
Romans 8:11
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
We must not submit to the flesh, we submit to the Spirit. In Jesus name we will live by the Spirit. Halleluyah
Have your way in me, have your way in us, Dear Lord.
All glory and honour to you dear Heavenly Father.
