GOD'S WISDOM - OUR SALVATION
1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Our salvation was by God's own plan, not ours. Man's problem began when the enemy convinced him(her) that he could live without God. That by his effort he could sustain himself.
Genesis 3:5&6
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
The salvation of God is not man reaching out to God, but God reaching out to man.
So it is not "Lord, will you accept man?", but "Man, will you accept God?"
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God is the one giving. Selah
So many will say, but "I have to repent", "I have to work in righteousness", "I have to abhor sin" etc.
Yes, that is the acceptance. He empowers us to.
Philippians 2:13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.
It is hard then for the Jews and some other sects to let go of:
Colossians 2:16-18
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ.
Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
The great desire of man to have something to boast about!!!
However Christ said:
Mark 10:15
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
1 Corinthians 1:22
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
So while the Jews seek a sign and the Greek wisdom. We by faith rest on the cross - the finished work of Christ. Halleluyah
Ephesians 2:8&9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
So God’s salvation is in us accepting His outstretched hand then continuing in Him for of course we must bear fruit.
John 15:5
I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
We encourage all who have received this salvation to continue in Him and those who have not we plead with them to repent.
Glory to the Heavenly Father. Thank you for your Son and your Holy Spirit.
Revelation 1:5&6
And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Thank you Lord Jesus.
He calls us blessed.
