WE EXPECT THE RETURN OF CHRIST
Philippians 3:20-21
But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.
He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.
We have not forgotten where we are headed, what we have become and to whom we belong. Our life does not end here. For though we do not see Him now, we know that we will see Him and also be with Him. Halleluyah
So if we carry this truth in our heart we should be encouraged to live the type of life He wants us to live. Not in filth or carelessness but in the power of His Spirit. That when He returns we will receive His rewards.
Some may say: "Is there anything to be worried about, no one can take our crown, it is already guaranteed?".
The scriptures implies otherwise:
Revelation 3:11
"Behold, I come quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
We would face some storms, our faith will be tested, yes, in all we must yet stand.
We must stand strong and help others to their feet.
Yes the return has tarried, yet it will surely come.
2 Peter 3:4,8-9
They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”
But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
It is not weakness or slackness on the part of God, but love.
We call all to come to Him. We that have come should remain in Him.
He has prepared our place to dwell with Him in eternity.
He calls us blessed.
