STILL ON GIVING
Luke 12:48
But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required.
If we know what our request entails, most of us would modify our desires and request.
We must not forget that what we possess, we are accountable for. The more we have, the more we account for.
In the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. Lazarus had so little, not just about money he could not even boast of health. The rich man had everything working for him. So the judgment was expected, you cannot account for what you did not handle.
So on giving, who and who are we to give to.
*The Heavenly Father.
First we have an obligation to the one who gave to us in the first place:
Luke 12:19-21
And I’ll sit back and say to myself, “My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!”’
“But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’
“Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”
*Our Family: (more importantly our immediate family)
1 Timothy 5:7-8
Give these instructions to the church so that no one will be open to criticism.
But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers.
*Our Social Responsibilities:
You can't enjoy facilities and amenities without paying for them that is ungodly
*Our Church:
Highest form of spiritual irresponsibility is being a member of a family yet not being financially committed. Be it tithe, offering, seed, whatever it is called, every member must be financially committed to their local assembly.
Acts 4:34-37
There were no needy people among them, because those who owned land or houses would sell them and bring the money to the apostles to give to those in need.
For instance, there was Joseph, the one the apostles nicknamed Barnabas (which means “Son of Encouragement”). He was from the tribe of Levi and came from the island of Cyprus.
He sold a field he owned and brought the money to the apostles.
We must be responsible believers.
*Our Fathers/Teachers:
Galatians 6:6
Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.
May the Spirit guide you on this.
We give gifts, to those who bless our lives one way or the other. Learn from Abraham and the King of Salem.
*One other blessing that is so heavenly recognized is giving to people who are truly in need and we know can NEVER pay us back. This is being God's representative. Selah
The list goes on, depending on your grace, your assignment and your call. The Lord will help us.
The Lord grant us grace, may we never disappoint Him, we will not be carried away or distracted, instead we will be instructed and directed by His Spirit.
He calls us blessed.
Love
@the watcher.
