OUR PRIORITY

Colossians 1:10
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Our live here on earth ought to carry this same testimony. That we please the Lord in all our doing. This we do by being fruitful in all good works and increasing in the knowledge of God.

This is why we continue in prayer for ourselves and for the brethren.

Colossians 1:9
So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.

Instead of these, many have made other desires priority. When we look at the christians in the early church, their priority was to pray for boldness to preach the gospel and grace to fulfil the purpose. The answer followed by the increase in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 4:29-31
And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word.
Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.

This is why they moved in power, miracles, signs and wonders. For their purpose was in line with Christ's purpose.

How many even desire to know Christ today?

Philippians 3:10
I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death,

When we know Him we can then keep away from idols!

1 John 5:20-21
And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.
Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

For when we do not give God His place, we do not remain a vacuum, something else takes His place.

Thus the very important question: what has preeminence in your life? What do we give priority?

The more we seek to know the Lord, the more we seek to do His will. These should be the priority of all that believe.

May we pray thus as Paul prayed:

Ephesians 1:17-21
asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power
that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come.

May we be revived again.

Love
