HE CONQUERED

Ephesians 4:8-9
That is why the Scriptures say,
“When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts to his people.”
Notice that it says “he ascended.” This clearly means that Christ also descended to our lowly world.

So what happened when Christ died?

1 Peter 3:19-20
So he went and preached to the spirits in prison—
those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood.

How did He do this? He had to bind the strong man of the house.

Mark 3:27
"No one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house. Selah

For set captives free:

It was a battle that made Him declare when He arose:

Matthew 28:18
Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

We must never forget this victory, because it is our victory. We give Him all the glory.

Thus we declare:

Romans 8:35,38-39
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We win!

He has made us blessed.
