BE CLOSE TO YOUR FATHER

John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:

So very popular a scripture, it is  unlikely that one would have received the message of salvation without this verse.

However, do we know the impact of this verse, do we know the consciousness of being adopted as God's children?

Isaiah 29:13
Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near [me] with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

The relationship God has with us is that of Father to son, yes for every believer. This is why at the new birth God comes to live in us by His Holy Spirit.

Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

This privilege ought to be for all believers. . . all?!

That is, you believe, you are a son, he believes, he is a son, they believe, they become sons.

Titus 2:11
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

This is why it is justified for each one to give account!

We are not made free by membership of a church or denomination, NO, we are set free, then we worship with others who also have received freedom. We thus have Fellowship! We are first believers, then we come to worship in the gathering of believers.

We cannot afford to play around with our personal relationship with God!

An Igbo proverbs says: "whenever you awake is your morning".

Believers have the grace to arise from any slumber or error whiles they are still here on earth. However we can not recover lost time, missed opportunities and heavenly treasures lost due to earthly foolishness. We must arise and make the most of the times we have.

The Lord calls us all to amend our ways, so that we can begin to make the most of our place as sons and daughters. He is the loving Father, He should not be far from us:

Isaiah 29:24
They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.

We are not a burden to God, no, He is not tired of us, remember He created us for His pleasure.

Ephesians 1:5
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Psalm 147:11
The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

I see us draw closer to Him as the year moves on, I see our ears more attentive to His Spirit in us.

He loves us.

He calls us blessed.
