THE PROUD CHRISTIAN

Romans 12:3
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Can we ignore the great things and elevation we receive/received when we accepted/accept the salvation we have from the Heavenly Father through Christ Jesus. They are enormous. From nothing we become something.

No matter who or what we thought we were or had. In spiritual measurement it is valueless.

Ecclesiastes 1:2
Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities;

Do we know what it is to have direct access to the Father? (though sometimes we forget that we do)

To sit with Christ in heavenly places!

However many have to be warned not to take these privileges for granted.

Romans 11:20-22
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
For if God spared not the natural branches, [take heed] lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in [his] goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Let us hear from Christ:

John 15:6
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast [them] into the fire, and they are burned.

Pride is when we refuse to abide in Him who saved, instead we begin to seek our own, for our gratification. Many use His name, but they actually seek for their own gain or have become agents for other powers.

Many have turned to seek their own!

More terrible are those who have roped others to follow their lies.

Acts 20:30
Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

One major characteristics of this category is pride!

1John 2:16
For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

But we have not so learnt Christ, we are humble, we are abiding in Christ, we bear fruit! Halleluyah, Glory to God.

James 4:6
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

We receive grace to remain focused.

We will neither fall, nor fall prey to this rebellious pride.

He calls us blessed.
