DIFFERENT ROLES BUT ONE PURPOSE
Romans 12:4-8
Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.
That was how the church began and that is how it is to continue.
Everyone may not be gifted with the same gifts but the focus is that we function together for the growth of the body. One should not be esteemed more than the other. Focus on your gifts and fulfil your ministry.
Seeking man's approval could actually become a stumbling block.
Romans 12:6a
In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.
The source of the gift is the Heavenly Father Himself, the beneficiary is the brethren, the church. So we account to God. Even when we account to our earthly leaders, we do so to them as God's representatives.
Thus do not let anyone restrain you, however remember that the gift of the prophet is subject to the prophet. While not being restrained we should NOT go overboard and become foolish or undisciplined.
Romans 12:6b-8
So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.
If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well.
If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.
Do your work, fulfil your ministry without grudge, murmuring, pride or complains. Let love, the character of God, the first evidence of the Spirit be the driving force.
Romans 12:9-10
Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.
The Lord will be with you, who is sincere, who really loves God. You will finish well. Many will find the Lord because of you. Don't let earthly things take you down. NO. You are more than this.
I see us fulfilled.
He calls us blessed.
