IS THE LAW VOID?

Romans 3:31
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Matthew 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

We must not forget the simple truth. The law reigned till John the baptist was revealed. Then a new covenant was revealed:

Matthew 3:7-12
But when he saw many Pharisees and Sadducees coming to watch him baptize, he denounced them. “You brood of snakes!” he exclaimed. “Who warned you to flee God’s coming wrath?
Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.
Don’t just say to each other, ‘We’re safe, for we are descendants of Abraham.’ That means nothing, for I tell you, God can create children of Abraham from these very stones.
Even now the ax of God’s judgment is poised, ready to sever the roots of the trees. Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.
“I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
He is ready to separate the chaff from the wheat with his winnowing fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, gathering the wheat into his barn but burning the chaff with never-ending fire.”

That is what Jesus explained:

Matthew 11:13&12
For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

And further explained:

John 1:17
For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

We should understand that the law was given to a sect: the Jews, however for salvation, all were counted as sinners both under the law and without, that we could receive salvation and sonship.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Whether they were under the law or not!

Romans 3:24
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

So what is then the way forward:

John 3:3&5
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

This is the law of faith, this is the new covenant.

John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:

Glory to God.

Meditate on these brethren.

He calls you blessed.
