John 14:22
Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
Do not get it twisted, Christ is manifested through those who have believed and not the other way round.
Romans 8:9(NLT)
But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by God's Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)
Romans 8:9b
Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Why then do most believers desire so much to fit in with the world? Why do they desire the world's approval?
No, we are not talking about going against constituted authority or making oneself a nuisance through hypocritical behaviours, neither are we talking about looking down on those who are yet to be saved. No.
We are talking of living the lifestyle of unbelievers, the sinful nature which Christ came to deliver us from.
You cannot be Christ's and yet seek the approval of the world. Selah
John 15:19
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Do you know some believers are more concerned with pleasing the world than showing love to fellow brethren?
However, Christ said:
John 15:17-19(NLT)
This is my command: Love each other.
“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.
The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.
DO NOT GET IT TWISTED!
James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
1John 2:15-17
Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
We cannot afford to get it twisted!
We are not to hate people but to do away with worldly things, death because of sin.
However we owe all men love and the message of salvation.
What do we owe? :
Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Hebrews 12:14-15
Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and thereby many be defiled;
Are you a believer and yet trapped in the world? Arise set yourself free. Activate the Spirit of God in you, let Him know you are ready to submit. TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
As we continue in our daily work, career, education, business, ministry and other endeavours may we not fall out of the Spirit of God, may we not become entangled with the spirit of the world. May we in love show forth the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
We have the Spirit, we will not get it twisted.
John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
