WHO DO YOU SERVE?
Romans 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
No matter how matured a believer becomes there will always come the decision times, both in small things and big things. That is, to do right or to do wrong.
The bible reveals that, at these times we proof whom we serve. Sin unto death or obedience unto righteousness!
When Jesus was speaking to the Scribes and Pharisees after they brought the adulterous woman to tempt him, Jesus called them according to whom they obeyed.
John 8:44
Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Thus every believer ought to take heed, that they do not follow the works of a stranger. If you say God is your father, your works cannot be otherwise.
Our duty is to love God and believe in Him who He had sent, Yeshau, Jesus the Christ and then continue in His words.
John 8:31
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8:42
Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
John 8:47
He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear [them] not, because ye are not of God.
1John 3:7-9
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
We will at all times prove whom we serve, by whom we choose to obey.
1John 3:10
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
1Corinthians 6:9
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
If we are of God we must chose His way and will, that is why He gave us His Holy Spirit not just to speak in tongues but to live in obedience.
Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
ARE YOU DOING GOOD? selah
Never think you have outgrown this decision making, you can only say you have settled it in your heart, that my choice must always be to serve God.
That is why Jesus said we must continue in prayers.
Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.
Luke 22:40
And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
We will not err, we will neither fail nor falter. We will represent the God we serve at all times. Glory to God.
