WHEN GOD SHOWS UP
Luke 8:43-44
And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
Came behind [him], and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
This woman had been going through this pain for eighteen years. She had visited places, she had spent so much money. All hope seemed lost, but God showed up! Glory.
What we preach today is that, as believers who enjoy grace, God dwells in us by his Holy Spirit.
1Corinthians 6:19
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
John 14:17
[Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Thus we do not see Jesus passing by, He dwells in us by God's Spirit.
However, we could grow to ignore His Spirit. To live life the way we please. This could be by:
* how we feel
* what we see
* what we hear
* experiences
* emotions etc
When we do, we place ourselves away from the power available to us on the inside.
We should understand that God compels no man. Selah!
Titus 2:11
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
We began by believing and thus took action (faith), we ought also to continue believing and taking action (faith).
God may not show His hand, till you have withdrawn yours and that of others you feel are your helpers. We have this beggars nature of seeking man. If only we seek God so, and allow Him direct us. Not that we do not need men, but they must never take the place of God. Else God would let you have your way. Till you have exhausted all and have been fully disappointed, then you turn to Him who cannot fail.
Isaiah 31:1,3
What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the lord, the Holy One of Israel.
For these Egyptians are mere humans, not God! Their horses are puny flesh, not mighty spirits! When the lord raises his fist against them, those who help will stumble, and those being helped will fall. They will all fall down and die together.
May we who have received God's Spirit not live as if we have not. God is with us, are we still waiting for Him to show up? Selah!
May we receive grace today to enjoy all the benefits of our sonship.
We are blessed.
