SERVING AS SONS (a reminder)
John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
Matthew 21:28
But what think ye? A [certain] man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
There is this misconception by some that a son does not work. When you talk of serving the Lord, it looks strange to them, they sort of resist feeling that the servant ought to serve while the sons enjoy the riches of heaven.
It may not be as direct as it seems, however, it is implied in some of our actions and doings.
Yeshua, Jesus the Christ said:
John 5:17
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
The proof of a good son is seen in him tilling the father's vineyard, working to make all things be in place, that is a son that deserves inheritance.
Luke 15:29-30
And he answering said to [his] father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
How many who think they are still sons, yet live like the prodigal? Jesus said:
Matthew 6:5
And when you make your prayers, be not like the false-hearted men, who take pleasure in getting up and saying their prayers in the Synagogues and at the street turnings so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.
There are some who say they are christians but are lazy, not willing to sacrifice, wanting all the glory here. "They have received their reward already". What more do they seek.
We have some who have "gone the prodigal" and have already spent all their reward. Selah!
I see you, a son/daughter working, about the Father's business, not tiring not dwelling on complain or murmuring. Yes, you who dine with the Father and the Son, and is a friend with the Spirit.
We will keep the labour on, we know that all the Father has is ours, we would not get tired or disillusioned.
We are sons and we serve.
We are blessed.
Love
