DON'T BE A CAIN
Proverbs 3:29
Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
1Corinthians 3:3
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
James 3:16
For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work.
When God made man, He gave him dominion over all that he had created on earth and expected him to fill the earth and multiply.
Man was not made to envy another, everyone had to follow his path and call, excelling in the skill they have been called to.
Genesis 4:2
And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
Two distinct skills Abel was a shepherd while Cain was a farmer.
There was a problem, man had died, he had eaten the fruit thus the choice of good and evil was birthed in him.
Cain envied Abel's good nature and thus acceptance of God, instead of changing his ways to turn his rejection to acceptance, he preferred to eliminate the one who was accepted.
Genesis 4:6-7
And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee [shall be] his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
1John 3:12
Not as Cain, [who] was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
(a lot of philosophies on the nature of Cain's birth, that is not for me to teach)
Now do we do the same today. Do we allow the Cain nature. Do we desire to have dominion over others, are we envious of their seemed success or do we rejoice in their failure.
The greatest evidence of your righteousness is not in what you wear, or the outside displays, routines, festivals you keep or laws you try to keep. It is in:
1John 3:10
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
Love has always been the deciding factor for God.
Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment.
A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
Anyone could slip into this foolishness, that is one reason why we watch and pray.
Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.
As christians we must learn to ask our self questions. Let the beam of God's light always shine on us that all that is hidden will be exposed. We cannot afford any darkness in us. Glory to God.
May the Lord find us worthy. May we say and do the word/will of the Lord.
We will not err.
We will correct our wrongs.
For we are the blessed.
