WHAT HE CAME TO DO (Isaiah 61)

Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound;

The book of Isaiah was the revelation of Jesus the Christ, it showed what He came to do, His sufferings and the victory.

So thus when Jesus had finished His fasting and overcame the temptations of Satan, He returned with power entered the synagogue as was His custom. When He got to the synagogue in the village were He grew up, He was given the book of Isaiah to read:

Luke 4:16-19
When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.
The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written:
“The Spirit of the lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the lord’s favor has come.”

Glory to God!

* Man was bound in sin, guilty as shown by the Law. - He came to set us free

* Religion kept man in bondage of practices and ablutions, being oppressed by so called religious leaders who had turned themselves to God and turned God to be seen as a wicked judge. - He brought good tidings to the meek.

* man was captive of his own unsteady thoughts being tossed here and there by satan and demons.  - he came to set us free, binding up our broken hearts.

* He proclaim the coming of the vengeance of God on all wickedness and all that rejected Him

However:

John 1:12
 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:

That they may enjoy:

* Joy instead of mourning
* Beauty in place of ashes
(wonder why any child of God would keep pouring ash on themselves. Selah)
* Garment of praise instead of heaviness of heart
* Psalm 1, called to be like a tree of righteousness

Isaiah 61:3
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

If only we know the extend of victory Christ Jesus worked in us!

Isaiah 61:10
 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh [himself] with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth [herself] with her jewels.

It was for all "all the nations" as many will believe and receive.

Halleluyah,! :

Isaiah 61:11
For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

This is what He came to do, this is our victory. Praise be to God.

Rejoice brethren, rejoice.

Oh how we love you Lord.

We are blessed.

Love
