TURN BACK TO GOD (Isaiah 30&31)
Isaiah 31:1
Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because [they are] many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
Rebellion is turning away from the authority of the King. This very well was one error too many the people of Israel kept on doing. They actually took the Lord for granted.
Why would we ever do this?
Isaiah 30:1
Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
Yes, that the flesh could have its way. To enjoy the pleasure of sin. The desire to fit in to those of the world that they see around them. (These we displayed displayed in all forms of media).
1John 2:15-17
Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
So the would prefer soothsaying to obedience to God. They prefer to put trust in man instead of in God. You are either for God or you are not!
Isaiah 30:9-11
That this [is] a rebellious people, lying children, children [that] will not hear the law of the LORD:
Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
They run around seeking prophesies and various forms of magic.
They take decisions and actions without seeking God or His Word!
Isaiah 30:2
That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
Yes so much error and rebellion yet God is merciful.
Isaiah 30:18
And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD [is] a God of judgment: blessed [are] all they that wait for him.
Yes for a little while, the Lord may allow you pay the price of your foolishness, yet His arms are open to take you in.
Isaiah 30:20
And [though] the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
Yes you can begin to hear the Spirit leading again, you can yet enjoy the direction of the Lord.
Isaiah 30:21
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This [is] the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
LET US TURN BACK TO GOD.
We are blessed.
