THE MESSIAH (ISAIAH 53)
Isaiah 53:1
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
Matthew 2:3-5
When Herod the king had heard [these things], he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
So they knew that a king was to be born, they knew what the prophet said about the messiah being born but they had no idea of the extent of His kingship. It was not just for Judah or the Jews but for the whole world.
The same today, we all know that Jesus is returning, yes:
Acts 1:11
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
If we know what the extent of His return was, what ought we be doing?
* Will the christians in politics be doing what they are doing now?
* Will teachers in schools be doing what they are doing now?
* Will parents be raising their children the way they do now?
* Will couples be living the way they do now. Will divorce be this rampant?
* Will churches be all about money, money and money?
* Will employers and bosses be treating their employees and subordinates the way they are doing now?
* Will employee and subordinates be faithful/unfaithful as they are now?
* Will those in authority be acting the way they do now?
* Would we all be living the way we are living now?
The people of old missed it on the coming of Christ, there was still hope for them:
Matthew 3:7
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
However at the second coming, there would be no second chance:
1Thessalonians 3:13
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
Revelation 1:18
I [am] he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Ephesians 4:30
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
We will not be caught unawares. We have God's Spirit.
We are the blessed.
