THE MESSIAH 2 - what He did(Isaiah 53)
Isaiah 53:4
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
There is a song that goes thus:
"When I remember His kindness I shout halleluyah."
The coming of the messiah brought us so much victory and when we read passages like Isaiah 53, we are reminded of the sacrifice and the glory.
* He was wounded/pierced that we do not have to be wounded for our rebellion.
* He was bruised/crushed that we would not keep the scars of our sin/iniquity.
* We enjoy peace from what He suffered.
* We received healing by each stripe of the whip He received on our behalf.
Isaiah 53:5
But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
The Messiah carried the sin we were born with and all that we committed or will ever commit on Himself that we would not be damned.
Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
For all man was condemned to destruction. Just like in the days of the flood. The earth was due to be wiped out. Only a remnant, a very few "Noah's family" would have been left.
But halleluyah mercy was released grace was given.
2 John 1:3
Grace be with you, mercy, [and] peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
As we go on with our daily purpose, let us not forget this great love. Let us continually give God thanks for this gift.
Halleluyah, let us enjoy it and also bring others into it.
We are blessed.
