THE BIGGER PLAN(Isaiah 9)
Isaiah 55:9
For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Israel and Judah had forsaken the way of the Lord, they just kept on rebelling against God, who chose them out of many nations. Isaiah was one major prophet who foretold of their impending doom and their fall into captivity, they never really recovered from this fall even from the rise of Babylon to the time of the Roman empire and time again and again.
The Prophesy of Judah's redemption was also revealed. However what they did not realize was that God's thoughts and plans went beyond them. They were chosen as a link to bring salvation to the whole world.
Isaiah 9:2 & 6
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
This was one reason the Pharisees and Sadducees were not happy to receive Jesus, they were awaiting the salvation of Israel, they did not want to loose their leadership status.
Matthew 3:7
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
The messiah of the world who related with the common, the so called sinners and the gentile. This was not what they expected!
Matthew 3:7
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
The same way as believers when we seek in that our small circle of sight, and make our demands from God, most times we forget to ask what His will is, we see from that limited position, however God sees the bigger picture. He is the one who knows the end from the beginning. If only we knew how to walk in His plans! That is why "the man of God" receives direction from God and not vice versa. Selah.
We should always remember that it is not always about us, but about God. While we were yet thinking about ourselves without thinking of Him, He was thinking about us. Those who work with God have gone beyond that limited boundary of self satisfaction and have moved to the level where we ask God to make us see beyond our realm of reasoning.
That is why the greatest stumbling block of salvation of others, is those who have been saved already. Jesus came to save the world we may as best, stay out of His way.
As someone once sang: "Jesus is the only way to God, but we are not the only way to Jesus"
We must never be the reason anyone misses the gift of God, salvation! selah
We are not just spiritual to display the gifts, but spiritual to know what the will of the Lord is.
I see us walking in the bigger picture. We will fit into God's plan, the salvation of souls will be our priority. We are blessed today and we are blessed again and again. Glory to God!
