STRENGTHEN IN HIS FLESH AND BLOOD: NO OTHER OPTION
John 6:68 - 69
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
Any christian who has come a distance in walking with the Lord would definitely have faced challenges that would bring out the question of another option. The reasons could be:
* No proper teaching
* Temptations or trial
* A former belief or exposure
* A wrong foundation or poor soil (see the parable of the sower)
* Living in the wrong environment.
Many reasons could abound, from our text the disciples who stopped following Christ did not even understand what He said.
John 6:53
Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Really many did not understand that Jesus the Christ was the Word of God.
John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
This Joshua prophesied:
Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
The shadow of this was what made the Jews of old walk around with scriptures hanging around their bodies.
As believers we have no option than to eat His flesh and drink His blood, this is not a fetish or diabolic ritual but a ritual of eating the word and drinking the spirit. Selah!
John 6:63
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life.
Funny enough the flesh resist this spiritual food, but we must show who is boss. Our spirit must rule, the flesh must submit.
Romans 8:4
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Galatians 5:17
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
This is why we stay in prayer, this is why we fast. We eat from the word of God and drink in His Spirit. Again and again. This is spiritual food that does not decay or get exhausted we are renewed day after day.
John 4:14
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Today I see a refreshing, believers awakening from sleep, rejecting distractions, not given in to temptations, not failing in trials instead increasing in faith and fulfilling their heavenly mandate.
Like Daniel, no fault shall be found in our work. Like Joseph, we will be found diligent and faithful. Like Daniel, we shall do exploit and like the apostles we will lead many back to the Father through Jesus the Christ.
Eat and drink. . . 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
