My Prayer for You

Colossians 1:9
For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

This was the desire of Paul and the other elders when the heard of the faith in Christ Jesus of the church in Colossae. That they may increase in the knowledge of the will of God. That is, as believers we have received salvation, the next thing is to determine His will for us and then go ahead to fulfill it.

Colossians 1:10
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Is this what believers are taught today? When one is brought to Christ what is the next desire?

Paul prayed the same prayer when he wrote to the church at Ephesus:

Ephesians 1:17 & 18
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Yes we have been saved, yes we have received the Holy Spirit. Then we must grow.

The prayer we should pray for all that come to Christ is growth. How?

. . .  in the knowledge of God. . .
. . . in wisdom. . . .
. . . to do His will. . .

Mark 3:33-35
And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

That is what qualifies us as family. Doing the will of the Father.

Remembering the parable of the sower, the number that received the word were many, yes, however those that matter were those who:

Luke 8:15
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience.

Thus we declare today that:

(Colossians 1:9-11)
May God give us complete knowledge of his will and give us spiritual wisdom and understanding. That we  may live always to honour and please the Lord, and our lives will produce every kind of good fruit. That we will grow as we learn to know God better and better.
We will be strengthened with all God's glorious power in His son Jesus the Christ so that we will have all the endurance and patience we need. May we be filled with joy

AMEN

You are blessed

Love
