Judgment & Restoration (Isaiah 10)
Isaiah 10:1&2
Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness [which] they have prescribed;
To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and [that] they may rob the fatherless!
Isaiah 10 continues to look at the woes that befell Judah because of their rebellious attitude. It stands as a lesson for the nation and the church today, the passages talked about the welfare of the less privileged at that time, there is a tendency to focus on wealth and highly placed people so much as to deny justice and equity to the people.
Any country that allows these type of evils should expect evils and God's disfavour on them. The apostles understood the importance of these, that was why they assigned special stewards to cater for the dependent ones in the church.
Acts 6:3
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
One can be tempted to place honour on man and mammon. We cannot afford to play into the hands of man, lest the Lord abandon us to fall into the hands of man!
Isaiah 10:6
I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
Eventually we would rest on the Lord, why not do it fully now. Why play the prodigal?
Isaiah 10:20
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
May the Lord release anointing to break us from every yoke, that we might lean on Him completely. We would not play around.
Isaiah 10:27
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
We will not be found wanting, we will keep pleasing the Lord.
We are blessed.
