DELAY

Habakkuk 2:3
For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

The most important expectation of the believer is to be with the Lord after the life we have here on earth. That is, the minute fraction of our time which we will spend here on earth is so insignificant compared to the immeasurable time we have to spend in eternity. Thus the christian has the character of patience, else we would not finish the race.

People have been taught, or by their experience come to believe that "God is slow". This is not true in the sense we speak. If we think back to see how at an instant the Lord has brought us out of many situations that needed instant deliverance (most of them we take ourselves into) we see that the Lord is swift in delivering His own. (most times we do not remember those times but dwell on times when it seems the Lord delayed. Hmm).

However waiting is part of the nature of the believer. The truth is we only see and hear in part, but God sees and knows ahead of time. Mary and Martha would have wondered why Jesus delayed, hmm the Lord of the resurrection was about to be revealed.

Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, the three friends of Daniel would have had their deliverance immediately from Nabuchanezaar but the Lord needed to show that he delivereth from fire!

Daniel 3:19 & 20
Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: [therefore] he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.
And he commanded the most mighty men that [were] in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, [and] to cast [them] into the burning fiery furnace.

One thing about the believer is that we must allow patience do its work.

Luke 21:19
In your patience possess ye your souls.

Romans 15:4
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Hebrews 10:36
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Lack of patience is what breeds half baked christians who cannot last in a little storm.

* Pastors who just started out in ministry want to have large churches with multitudes, yet they have not fully grabbed the deep teaching of the word or been able to nurture a few.

* Children who are very eager to run out of their parent's homes, yet have not matured or gotten the basic training to venture out

* Young believers who want to quickly become ministers and pastors yet they cannot lead a decent bible study

* Young men and women who want to rush into marriage but have no self control, no basics and no income

* Young people who want to hit millions of dollars but cannot account for the little thousands they earn, that is if they are earning at all

* People who cannot lead their homes but want to be known as elders and bishops

* Young believers who want to follow Christ yet the yearn and live each day in the lusts and foolishness of the world

* Believers who all they know about the faith,  is miracles, deliverances and noise making, no solid foundation, just like mere converts

* Many who desire to lead others but cannot lead themselves, they have no discipline at all!

The list is endless. . .

Patience must have her perfect work!

James 1:4
But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Perfect, entire and wanting nothing!

God is not slow, He is merciful and all that we need He has and has already made provisions for. He knows our priority, He knows how best it is for us. He knows when we are ready or when that seemeth blessing could be a potential downfall for us.

He does not condole our laziness, thus He will not do for us, what we ought to do ourselves. He desires we pray though He already knows all our needs.

That is why matured believers give thanks instead of asking. Selah!

We do not serve a slow God but a merciful and loving Father, the seemeth delay is not a denial. He sees further than you can.

Your answers and blessings are already here, it is about to come to pass.

You are blessed.
