YOU DECIDE?
Luke 8:15
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience.
Most unproductive people are those who we can describe as "given in to fate". Those who believe that they have no say in things. They, most times, play the "Blame Game" , accounting for nothing, not taking responsibility for anything and most times are good complainers.
The parable of the sower talks of different type of hearers and some may feel, that is the way they were created, thus they can do nothing about it. This is not true. Every man has the choice to be what he wants to be. The issue is always about choice!
Listen to Proverbs:
Proverbs 3:13
Happy [is] the man [that] findeth wisdom, and the man [that] getteth understanding.
Listen to Jesus:
Matthew 13:44
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
When Moses was about to leave the earth, he told the people of Israel:
Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, [that] I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Daniel found himself a slave exiled to Babylon and he decided:
Daniel 1:8
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
The truth is that when a man is born he is introduced into a definition of life. He is told what is most important to achieve, it could be from parents, family, movies, books or even the environment or government. This is influential and consciously or unconsciously that young mind makes a god out of that pursuit and when God is not that pursuit, then there is rivalry. Listen to Jesus and this young man:
Luke 18:21-25
The man replied, “I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young.”
When Jesus heard his answer, he said, “There is still one thing you haven’t done. Sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
But when the man heard this he became very sad, for he was very rich.
When Jesus saw this, he said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!
In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!”
The wealth was not a problem, but the man knew something was missing, it is clear the wealth was already a god to him.
Listen to Jude:
Titus 2:11-12
For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people.
And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God,
See what Satan said about humans:
Job 1:9-11
Satan replied to the lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God.
You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is!
But reach out and take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!”
Thank God Job proved him wrong!
The first step to miss it is to believe we have no say, NO, we must decide . . .
Mark 8:34
And when he had called the people [unto him] with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
We have a say, we have the Heavenly Father as our God who paid the price of our sin by sacrificing His Son for us. We have victory in His resurrection, He thus filled us with His Holy Spirit who leads us to keep making the right choices, we live for Him and when we leave this earth we continue to reign with Him in glory. This is our nature, this is our choice. We encourage others to do same.
You are blessed.
