GOD REVEALED
Revelation 1:1-3
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified [it] by his angel unto his servant John:
Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
Blessed [is] he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time [is] at hand.
I encountered a group of people yesterday who claimed to be on evangelism and when I gave them few minutes of time, the leader began with this verse:
Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
I asked on whose premise is this message coming from, he said God. I also asked "what exactly is your message?". He said the message was that all the pain and suffering on this earth would soon end etc, etc.
Hmm.
I had to become the evangelist!
The issue is we have many religions all over the world and they all believe in God! So what does it matter what way one chooses to believe. Even those who practice heathen cultures do talk about the sovereign God, but claim to reach Him through a deity.
The difference is this:
Acts 4:10&12
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, [even] by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Jesus himself said:
John 14:6-7
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Hebrews 1:2
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Before Jesus died and was resurrected He said:
Mark 8:38
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
The Father, God, is only revealed by Christ Jesus, and every message about God without Christ Jesus is leaving in the past, searching for the living among the dead.
Matthew 11:27
All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and [he] to whomsoever the Son will reveal [him].
Any message preached about the Father apart from His Son, cannot be from God. You cannot separate the Son from the Father:
John 1:18
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [him].
There is no knowledge of God without the revelation of the Son, even David prophesied so:
Psalm 2:12
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish [from] the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed [are] all they that put their trust in him.
THE TRUTH IS:
There is no salvation without Christ Jesus!
