God is awesome. . . so
Exodus 15:11
“Who is like you among the gods, O Lord glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders?
God is awesome, yes He is wonderful, when man was separated from God's presence, man could not experience God's goodness thus man could not display his character which ought to be as a result of his association with this Awesome God, man could not be good thus man walked in wickedness.
Genesis 6:5
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually.
One of the first display of God's awesomeness to man was the display of His power when He parted the red sea for the people of Israel to pass through, they sang:
Exodus 15:11
“Who is like you among the gods, O lord glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders?
The old testament gave us a glimpse of people who experienced God's presence and thus were able to shine as lights in their time. However God's awesomeness was fully revealed in His Son Jesus the Christ.
John 5:37
And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
John 6:46
Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
John 8:38
I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
If you have experienced Christ you have experienced God!
John 14:7
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Anyone who has seen God's awesomeness displays goodness, that is living by association. Thus it is recorded:
Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
When you believe God's salvation through His Son Jesus the Christ, your eyes are opened to see God's kingdom, the revelation of His awesomeness.
John 3:3
Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
God then empowers us by His Spirit to display His awesomeness.
Today some of us who claim to be born again and do not display the goodness of God should check it.
Matthew 7:16-23
You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit.
A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit.
So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire.
Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.
“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.
On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’
But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’
Our God is awesome and His awesomeness is displayed in us who He has made Sons. May we by knowledge begin to display His awesomeness.
You are good because you carry the nature of your father!
You are blessed.
