AWAKE! NEGLECT NOT THE ANOINTING
1Timothy 4:14
Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
From old times kings, prophets and even judges in scriptures received anointing to function from laying on of hands and anointing of the head. It was not really the person laying the hands but an act that signifies that the Lord's Spirit has began an operation on that life.
For the fathers like Abraham or Noah or Moses they had to hear the voice of the Lord, obviously no one carried on the anointing that they may lay hands or anoint them.
To Christ Jesus it was during his baptism the bible said "... Spirit remained. . ."
For the orthodox worshippers during the confirmation when the bishop lays his hands to confirm their baptism, to the Pentecostal who may believe that it was when the received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, one way or the other there is a passing on of the anointing when God marks a fresh birth of a ministry - - - Your Ministry!
Some forget, some do not know what happened, some may just speak in tongues, prophesy or manifest a gift for a while then everything dies down. NO!!!
1Timothy 4:15
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
We can not be like seeds sown on the way side, stony ground or with thorns. We are sown on good grown that we may bear much fruit.
1Timothy 4:12
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
If you are not functioning in that anointing you received, you have been despised, cheated or even robbed!
Let us wake up!
Stir up those gifts again!
