THE SWEET SERMON

2Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

One thing must be clear the message of salvation is "the good news":

Matthew 24:14 (BBE)
And this good news of the kingdom will be given through all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end will come.

The good news is the redemption of man from the bondage of the law and from the power of sin and death. The adoption into sonship and the right to  live and rule in eternity with Christ.

Revelation 1 : 5 & 6
And from Jesus Christ, the true witness, the first to come back from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who had love for us and has made us clean from our sins by his blood;
 And has made us to be a kingdom and priests to his God and Father; to him let glory and power be given for ever and ever. So be it.

Yes it is the good news, however sound doctrine entails the lifestyle, instruction and doings of the believer as he lives through his time on earth. This is where the enemy, WHO CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT OUR SALVATION, plays around to make the believer loose his way.

Titus 2:1
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

Titus 1 : 9 - 11
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

When we received adoption, the Spirit of God dwell in us and we receive power over the enemy. Thus the enemy has no other target than to use the old tool of deceit. However we know whom we have believed and we have His word, every false teaching, every teaching for personal gain, all kinds of flattering and every thing that contradicts God's word must be rejected and thrown out. The truth must prevail.

Every lifestyle that displeases God must be put off completely:

Titus 1:16
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny [him], being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

There is a difference between the truth and a sweet sermon. There is always be a place for rebuke:

Titus 1:13
This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

I see a people who have received salvation, and live the life God has given us. The truth must prevail.

Do have a lovely day.
