BE LIKE
1 John 3:1-2 (NLT)
[1]See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.
[2]Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is.
There is the character of the believer, it is the fruit of the Spirit, because we are born of the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, temperance: against such there is no law.
We do not know what we will be like, when Jesus Christ returns, but I John 3:2 says we will be like Him.
Glory!
However while we are here we live like the nature we carry, the same nature Christ carried when He was here. The nature of those born of the Spirit.
We live like Him.
Luke 9:54-56
And when his disciples James and John saw [this], they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save [them]. And they went to another village.
As we worship with other believers today, may we continue to reflect the love of God just as Christ did. It is not a function of what they do, but of WHO WE ARE!
This week will see us prosper.
