Temptations 1

James 1:3
Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

Temptation itself is not sin, everyone gets tempted one time and/or the other.

Temptation comes in different forms and from various sources. It could be what you do or not do.

* Thoughts
* What we see
* A raising appetite
* An emotion/desire/lust
* Anger
* Pride/Ego
* Fear
* Doubt
* Riches

The sources are many.

Just like a pit, the problem is falling into it. It may be by ignorance, lack of self control or just mere carelessness.

The consequences are there, every error has its consequences and if you have studied the scriptures, you will understand that they of different degree. Thus every instruction and guidance of God is for our benefit.

So, what do we do?

 James 1:13-15
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man
 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

We must watch for it's approaching sign and then avoid it.

How?

Matthew 26:41
 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.

WATCH and PRAY!

We must know when it is temptation, it is eazier to destroy the larva than to kill the grown snake.

First it is conceived then the thoughts come, when you give it room, it develops/grows and then produces sin, then sin would lead to death.

Oh how many glorious things we have missed because of sin.

Isaiah 59:2
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.

A matured christian is one who knows when temptation comes knocking and dosen't fall into it.

This year the Lord would keep us from falling into temptations.

You are blessed.
