REMEMBER WE ARE LED BY HIS SPIRIT
Isaiah 59:21
"As for Me," says the LORD, "this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants," says the LORD, "from this time and forevermore."
Romans 8:14
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
We need to remind ourselves that the only way to be God's child is our believing in His Son and accepting Him as our Lord and Saviour then He lives in us as the Holy Spirit. That was our salvation experience.
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name:
Revelation 3:20
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
Acts 2:38
Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
These we may know, but does it stop at the point of salvation or is it an investment we do then walk away waiting for the interest to accumulate?
Let me also add that many have been called to salvation, however, they have not been properly taught what happened to them in the spirit. That was what Jesus was explaining to Nicodemus and he found it too awesome to understand. Everyone called to salvation must have the understanding of what he becomes and the fullness of his new identity.
The Holy Spirit dwelling in anyone who is a child of God is an everyday experience, He is available to guide us in all we do and He builds us up daily in the character of God which is:
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
The Holy Spirit builds our spirit to display these true nature of God. Then He further empowers us with His gifts to excel in our endeavours, edify the church and minister salvation to others.
1Corinthians 12:7-8
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
If Daniel who lived at the time the Spirit only visited could manifest the Spirit of God and do exploits. We who receive the indwelling of the Spirit at the new birth should do more.
* He is available to help us pray even when we don't know what we ought to pray.
* He is available as our advocate.
* He reveals the will of the Father to us.
* He leads us to win souls to God.
* He remains as our comforter and friend.
And because He is a gentle Spirit we most times forget He is there, but once you yield to Him He leads you on and there is never a regret following His leading.
Our salvation was by the Holy Spirit, He convinced us and made us submit to God through His Son Yeshua "Jesus the Christ". It will then be odd for us to have believed by faith in the leading of the Holy Spirit then go on living our lives in the flesh which is now dead.
Galatians 3:3
Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?
Let's awaken.
I see a year when the Holy Spirit leads us to fulfil the purpose of God for our lives.
His character in us and His leadings would cause us to do exploits.
