A NEW SEASON
Daniel 2:21
And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
As we end the year, we must understand that there is a distiction between the timing of the earthy calender and the season of God's move.
We could decide to move according to the timing of things according to the natural perspective or preferable we could move with the divine change of season.
After the ascension of Christ, Peter had to stand twice in the midst of the brethren. At the first standing the Holy Spirit was yet to be poured on the disciples so his standing led to the casting of lots to appoint a twelfth disciple:
Acts 1:15
And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
Acts 1:25-26
That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
We could get carried away by human sentiments, make plans or even appoint people while operating in the natural calendar of things. The question is, has the season fully come?
Let us look at Peter's next standing:
Acts 2:1, 2, 4 & 14
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all [ye] that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
This standing was not a mere speculation it was not about casting lots, it was not about prophesying because it is a new year according to earthly calender. This was a new season, "the pentecost had fully come" the Holy Spirit had been released.
As we enter the new year many would give prophesy(s), many resolutions would be made and many declarations would also be made. Let us remember that it goes beyond the sentiments, there is the divine season which we also could provoke. Daniel did it, that is why He could declare God as the
"changer of times and the seasons"
The demons knew it that is why they told Jesus:
Matthew 8:29
And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
Let us understand that when we operate in times and seasons everything falls into place, it is always beautiful, complete and stable.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
He hath made every [thing] beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
As we approach the new year, may we not just move on with dates but may the Lord bring forth a new season, a glory that will endure again and again.
Peter's first standing led to the appointment of Matthias, who was already with the 120, and who we never heard of again.
However his second standing was in God's time and season, 3,000 were added to their number that day and the numbers kept on increasing again and again.
I see a new season as we enter the new year. Do not get over exicited and then feel depressed if your expectation dosen't work immediately. It is not silent it is alive, fit into His season and all would be beautiful.
I see you there, I see your increase, the shouting of "at last it is done", the joy that would overflow.
I see accomplishment, serious christians, soul winners, examples, light to the world.
I see testifiers.
The celebration continues.
God has blessed you. Enter into your season.
