MAN's DESIRE 2

Ephesians 2:3
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

The power of man's desire drives him to do what he does. It is just for the thought to sink in then his actions are focused on getting them.

The desire in itself is not where he errs, but in what is desired.

That is where the God factor comes into play.

It is difficult for some intellectuals to accept, that, if it is not good then it is bad, there is no inbetween. The same way, when it is not of the light, then it is of darkness.

Revelation 3:15-16
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Many think of the great exploits of man, the development of technology, the ease of things, cure to diseases, computer, faster communication, faster travel.

In all man remain in his limited form.
Ecclesiastes 8:8
[There is] no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither [hath he] power in the day of death: and [there is] no discharge in [that] war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it

Man yet would not conquer the spirit. He must submit himself to his creator, after the short time spent here. Many never think of this till they lie on their dying bed.

The wise preacher concluded by saying:

Ecclesiastes 12:13
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man.

Man is empowered to explore the earth, create, have dominion. However man is limited in time and this was because of wickedness.

Genesis 6:3
And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also [is] flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

So because we must give account we must allow only the right desires, and of course, whom we give control to, would determine what desire we retain.

Colossians 3:5-6
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

Romans 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

In all our doings we cannot afford to be carefree, in all our zeal we cannot afford to destroy or hurt others.

We have the choice to control our desires.

Galatians 5:16
[This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

We cannot resist God and feel the enemy or the flesh would not have its way.

We would keep being driven by desires day after day. They should be the right ones. Let God have His place.

God bless you.
