MISPLACED RESPONSE( a reminder)
God loves us, He expects us to submit to Him.
James 4:7 (GNB)
So then, submit yourselves to God. Resist the Devil, and he will run away from you.
Acts 7:51 (KJV)
Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
The one we should resist is the devil.
1Peter 5:9
Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
There are most times two sides to every situation:
* the negative and the positive,
* the good and the bad,
* the wise and the foolish,
* the right and the wrong,
* the truth and the lie,
. . . the list goes on
Error is when we accept the wrong response.
The scriptures is clear on our response.
Submit to God - - - - Resist the Devil.
As simple as it seems it may look difficult because it is not a physical battle, but a battle in the mind and spirit.
It is so if you did not fulfil the initial instruction at new birth, which many may have not because of their initial denominational or religious inclination.
Let me explain.
Mat 28:18 (GW)
When Jesus came near, he spoke to them. He said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
So wherever you go, make disciples of all nations: Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Teach them to do everything I have commanded you. "And remember that I am always with you until the end of time."
We need to teach our body to submit to its new nature in Christ Jesus.
Romans 12:2 (GW)
Don't become like the people of this world. Instead, change the way you think. Then you will always be able to determine what God really wants-what is good, pleasing, and perfect.
How long have you resisted what the Spirit has been saying to you, have you replaced the “submit” with the “resist” or vice versa.
As long as we are still alive we can make amends and correct our mistakes. God is not always there to destroy us. He knows we are human and do make mistakes. His Spirt is there to help us if only we are willing.
We cannot afford to neglect the place of the Word in our lives.
May the Lord return to find us worthy, ready and rapturable.
